The Bubble Room

 Main Menu

Next we come to the great 'Bubble Room' a firm favourite in Alderley Edge which has recently doubled in size after the foreclosure of the post office next door. This Alderley hot spot is mainly a bar however it offers 1st class dining to those who would like it. The bubble room is very much a trendy homely down to earth bar with interlaced antique furniture blending in with modern leather booths; there VIP room is lit up with a ceiling flooded in light bulbs which give the room a feeling of looking under the stars within a posh warmly decorated summer house.

Yara

Yara

Moving a few doors down we come to Yara a family run traditional Lebanese and Syrian restaurant which is one of two in the Golden Triangle with its sister restaurant based in Altrincham. Yara claim that their chefs have a passion for serving there guests stunning dishes of the Lebanese and Syrian specialties.

At Yara, you are free to bring your own wine where our corkage is only £1. We also stock a wide range of Lebanese wines and beers, including Chateau Musar (red), and St Thomas (red, white and rose), as well mainstream beers such as Heineken, Grolsch and Budweiser.

Bookings are essential, particularly at weekends, and we welcome any size of party, although a small service charge applies for tables over 6 people.

Konak Luxurious Mansion

Konak

Moving on further down the road you will find yourself at Konak a popular Turkish Restaurant right in the centre of Alderley Edge. The work Konak is an old Turkish word meaning "Luxurious Mansion" and these are not just words with no meaning. It is not the most expensive restaurant in Alderley edge and it certainly won't be the most star studded on a Friday night however it does offer sophisticated Turkish food in beautiful surroundings for a reasonable price.

The Botanist

The Botanist

While Panacea has been a wreck site 'The Botanist' has been 'the' place to be and be seen, its food is earthy and exactly what you'd expect to find in any celebrity chef's potting shed. Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey and also Hugh Fernley Whittingstool could all easily be cooking any of the items on their menu in their down to earth 'eat what you grow' cooking programs.

It is certainly a place which i really enjoy eating and drinking in, it is very difficult to get a table here and i would personally recommend booking a table a month in advance. I mainly enjoy trying there three taster pints of local ales which come on their own wooden board and sharing a few of their appetisers such as the Salt & Pepper Onion Petals, Home Made Scotch egg, Calamari with lemon mayonnaise and the Humous Board; for myself The Botanist is by far my most favourite and the best place in town.

Panacea Old and New

Panacea

Lets start with the famous 'Panacea', this restaurant in Alderley Edge has an infamous history not only for its great food, expensive drinks, star studded celebrity list, beautiful wine cabinets and sky high profits but also its wobbly insurance history.

The Panacea restaruant in Alderley Edge has burnt down twice; it originally opened in 2008 after the owners spent £3.2m however after only a few days the venue burnt down, the venue is owned by tycoon Joe Akka and in March 2013 the venue burnt down again while it was closed down for a new major refurbishment. Work is now well underway with Panacea set to open mid 2014, most likely ready for the beginning of the Summer season……

Just before Panacea burnt down a new restaurant in town opened up 'The Botanist' in Alderley edge can only be described as a posh potting shed which everyone wants to garden in. The Botanist owned by 'The New World Trading co' is one of two restaurants with its sister in Leeds.

Alderley Edge - The Place to Be Seen

Alderley Edge

Alderley Edge; the majority of people say that this is the hot spot within the golden triangle 'the place to eat, drink and be noticed' and for the most part this is in fact true. There are no bad dining experiences within Alderley Edge, its expensive to live in, work in and dine in, 99% of people here are millionaires and this mix of rich folk expect the best and only the best.

Alderley Edge is famous for its affluence and expensive houses. It forms part of Cheshire's Golden Triangle, named after LA's Platinum Triangle in the US. Alderley Edge has a selection of cafes and designer shops, and has attracted numerous Premier League footballers, actors and multi-millionaire North-Western business people. It is one of the most expensive and sought-after places to live in the UK outside of central London.

The area is notable for its heavily wooded streets and substantial Victorian villas set in spacious gardens. The first villa was constructed in the early 1840s and by 1850 thirty "handsome residences" had been erected, some of them in what is now the Alderley Edge Conservation Area. The cotton barons from Manchester built their mansions here and now they are changing hands for several million pounds. The village winds up a high street with many restaurants, designer shops and specialty food shops. Around the village, winding lanes are covered in their original sandstone sets and front boundary walls are usually built from the same local sandstone. The buildings are varied in style with examples of Tudor, Italian, neo-Georgian and Arts and Crafts Movement designs. The wide range of materials used reflects this somewhat eclectic mix of styles, and include stone, brick (several colors) smooth render or roughcast for the walls, and Welsh slate or clay tiles for the roofs.

So what does Alderley Edge have to offer? Well for a start its easy to navigate your way around; the main street 'London Road' is the road to eat on, this is where all of the bars and restaurants for which Alderley Edge is famous for are.
