The Botanist
While Panacea has been a wreck site 'The Botanist' has been 'the' place to be and be seen, its food is earthy and exactly what you'd expect to find in any celebrity chef's potting shed. Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey and also Hugh Fernley Whittingstool could all easily be cooking any of the items on their menu in their down to earth 'eat what you grow' cooking programs.
It is certainly a place which i really enjoy eating and drinking in, it is very difficult to get a table here and i would personally recommend booking a table a month in advance. I mainly enjoy trying there three taster pints of local ales which come on their own wooden board and sharing a few of their appetisers such as the Salt & Pepper Onion Petals, Home Made Scotch egg, Calamari with lemon mayonnaise and the Humous Board; for myself The Botanist is by far my most favourite and the best place in town.
